🌱 Bhuvira Rakshati – Trust & Sustainability Policy

At Bhuvira Rakshati, we are committed to building India’s most trusted sustainable marketplace. We recognize that “eco-friendly” claims are often misused or exaggerated. Our mission is to eliminate greenwashing and ensure that every product listed on our platform meets verifiable, transparent, and responsible standards.

1. Our Commitment

  • We do not allow vague or misleading sustainability claims.
  • We verify environmental claims using certifications, documentation, and product-level scrutiny.
  • We prioritize transparency over marketing.
  • We continuously monitor vendors to maintain trust.

2. No Greenwashing Policy

The following types of claims are strictly prohibited on our platform:

  • “100% eco-friendly”
  • “Chemical-free”
  • “Non-toxic” without scientific proof
  • Generic claims like “green”, “natural”, or “sustainable” without explanation
  • Fake or self-created eco-labels

Any product found making misleading claims will be corrected, suspended, or permanently removed.

3. Certification-Based Verification

We rely on a structured certification framework to evaluate products. Depending on the category, we require specific certifications:

  • Textiles: GOTS, FSC, Bluesign, ZDHC
  • Food: India Organic (NPOP), PGS, FSSAI
  • Personal Care: COSMOS, NATRUE, Ecocert + full ingredient disclosure
  • Plastics: CPCB Compostable Certification
  • Electronics: BIS, BEE Star Rating
  • General Products: BIS Eco Mark (supporting only)

No product is approved based on a single certification alone. Claims must always be supported by category-specific validation.

4. Transparency First Approach

We believe sustainability is not perfect. Therefore, we require vendors to disclose both:

  • What makes the product environmentally better
  • Any limitations or trade-offs

Example:

  • ✔ Made from bamboo viscose
  • ⚠ Uses chemical processing during manufacturing

5. High-Risk Category Monitoring

Certain categories are more prone to greenwashing and are subject to stricter checks:

  • Bamboo / viscose textiles
  • Recycled polyester products
  • Compostable plastics
  • Herbal / natural personal care
  • Organic-labelled food

These products require enhanced documentation, certifications, and verification before listing.

6. Vendor Accountability

All vendors must:

  • Provide accurate product information
  • Submit valid certifications and documents
  • Avoid misleading marketing language
  • Comply with Indian laws including Consumer Protection and advertising guidelines

Vendors are solely responsible for the authenticity of their claims and certifications.

7. Enforcement & Penalty System

  • Minor Violation: Warning + mandatory correction
  • Repeated Violation: Product listing suspension
  • Serious Misrepresentation: Permanent vendor removal
  • Fraud / Fake Certification: Legal action may be initiated

8. Bhuvira Verified Badge

Products that pass our verification process receive the “Bhuvira Verified” badge.

This indicates:

  • Verified sustainability claims
  • Valid supporting certifications
  • Transparent product disclosures
  • No greenwashing practices

9. Consumer Awareness & Reporting

We encourage users to report any product that appears misleading or inconsistent.

  • Submit complaints via support channels
  • Provide feedback on product claims
  • Help us maintain marketplace integrity

All reports are reviewed seriously and may lead to re-evaluation or removal of products.

10. Continuous Improvement

We continuously update our policies based on:

  • New government regulations (CCPA, ASCI, CPCB, BIS)
  • Scientific developments
  • Industry best practices

Our goal is to evolve into India’s most credible sustainability-first marketplace.

This policy is for informational and transparency purposes. While we strive to verify all claims,
ultimate responsibility for product accuracy lies with the respective vendors.
Users are encouraged to review product details and certifications independently.
